Member for Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh
Richard Edjericon was elected to the 19th Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly as the Member representing Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh.
Mr. Edjericon was born and raised in Little Buffalo River near Fort Resolution. He is one of many descendants of Chief Oliver Edjericon who signed Treaty 8 on July 25, 1900 in Fort Resolution on behalf of the Chipewyans. Mr. Edjericon attended Diamond Jenness Secondary High School in Hay River and Akaitcho Hall in Yellowknife. He obtained his journeyman carpenter’s certification from Thebacha College in Fort Smith. Mr. Edjericon’s past experiences include: former Chairman for the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board; former Akaitcho Chiefs Spokesperson, Akaitcho Territory Government; former Head Chief Yellowknives Dene First Nation; Chief Executive Officer, Yellowknives Dene First Nation; General Housing Division Manager, Government of Northwest Housing Corporation; Chairman, GNWT Apprenticeship Board; and nearly four decades as a Journeyman Certified Carpenter in residential commercial construction experiences.
Mr. Edjericon lives in the community of Ndılǫ.
